I've known her for quite sometime, and she is a pure delight. Always bubbly, easy to be around, and super FUNNY!
I asked her to do an e-interview. And don't miss her exclusive session offer below!
So without further ado...
Q: Meo, can you start off and tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi there! I’m a mom, wife, portrait photographer and lover of all things spicy. I just learned to coupon, which is my favorite way to feed my habit...I mean stock up on all my favorite drugstore makeup!
Q: How did you get into photography?
A camera was handed to me for my 10th birthday. I used to dress up my best friend, do her hair & makeup and make her do cheesy “model” poses. 20 years later, I’m still doing the same thing, just less cheesy.
Q: What is your photography specialty?
Portraits with a flair of beauty, glamour and a pinch of fashion.
Q: What do you do for fun?
I love to throw together an amazing meal on the fly with whatever I find in my fridge and cupboards.
Q: Favorite place you traveled to...
Barcelona, Spain. The pace of life combined with the food are nourishing to my soul.
Q: Favorite place to visit in the Bay Area...
Little hole in the wall restaurants with good reviews on Yelp!
Q: Do you have any photography tips to share for parents taking home pictures of their kids?
Simple is better. Keep a clean uncluttered area so the focus stays on your subject.
Q: How do you relax and unwind?
I cuddle up next to my honey with a Blue Moon and watch a Redbox movie.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or passed, who would they be?
Sue Bryce. She’s an Australian portrait photographer that has inspired me in so many ways. I could sit there and listen to her talk for hours.
Q: Describe your style... Favorite places you like to shop in the Bay Area...
My style is a good pair of jeans and a layered top. For shooting days, you’ll most likely find me in a simple pair of comfy kicks, but if it’s date night I’m in a hot pair of heels with ballet flats in my bag.
Q: How do you stay energized?
My morning cup of coffee, giggling with my daughter, and lots of music on Pandora!
Here is a bit of additional information about her work (from her site www.meobaaklini.com):
Time flies. There is no slowing it down. One day you and I will be old + crusty. When we begin to forget, our albums and photographs help jog our memory of the stories that begin with, "back in the day". We will show our friends and family the vacations, the kids when they were still so cute and innocent (before they hit puberty + had opinions) and the days when your mom was a hottie bride. People pass away, life keeps going and our portraits are what we pass down through the hands of our kids. My mom only took pictures of us while we were missing teeth and in matching blue velvet dresses (that looked straight Amish). My childhood photos are collected from those who carried cameras with them. I am honored for every bride, parent + friend that allows me to be the one to give that gift.
